THE URBAN VIBE BACKPACK.

We move around in the city, on our bikes, in the tubes, by foot or maybe by bus. We carry our stuff in all kind of weather, rain, snow and sunshine. At all times of the day we carry, everything we need for the day and night.

The city is one big boiling pot of different cultures, opinions and ways of living.
But one thing is common to the modern citizen. We move around activily and often with all our stuff for the whole day stacked in our bags. We are modern nomads and we carry around all things related to our work, leisure and daily life on our backs.
Therefore i have taken a modern, ethnic and active inspiration to describe both the diversity but also the similarities of the urban citizen.

Process:
I have chosen to work on a backpack.
The backpack is, to my opinien, one of Eastpacks strongest identities but also a stylish yet practical everyday accessorie.
I wanted to create some inspirational collages to get me kickstarted. For this I made a moodboard with some visual material.
I came to the idea that i wanted something graphical related to the human face. It should be colorful, stylish and with a twist of humor but also related to both gender and practical.
After the collages I started picking out colors and sketching, using the graphical identity in my artwork as inspiration.

The final design for the Bag in Town competition is picked because of it\\\\\\\’s strong graphical output but still with a very fashion and funny vibe.
You can carry all your stuff for the day, comfortable on your back.
With the Urban Vibe Backpack you can look cool and still be practical.

Hello Trine, I liked your project very much. I got to it while researching urban facts for my postgraduation course here in Brasil. I ask your permission to translate your text on studying the city and its inhabitants, the planning and images you posted here to add it on my paper for the university. I know this is on public domain but still I need your permission. Would you mind writing back to me? Good luck! Hug from Brasil. (p.s.: I elsker DK after living there for 4 years);)
